Etiquette

 

 

1. Don’t move, talk, or stand close while a player is making a stroke.

 

2. Don’t stand directly behind, or in the direct sight line of a player putting. (This is an obvious courtesy, but could result in a penalty in some instances by the rules of golf )

 

3. Don’t stand directly behind a player teeing off or playing a stroke.

 

4. Repair divots and ball marks (fix yours +1 or more) on greens.

 

5. Rake sand traps and repair fairway divots.

 

6. Mark and identify your golf ball on the first tee and whenever a different ball is put in play.

 

7. Don’t drop flagstick on the green, and replace them carefully in an upright position.

 

8. Mark scorecards at the following tee box, not at the green; check scores with players prior to marking.

 

9. Mark scorecards legibly; all players with scores on the card must sign or initial.

 

10. For any event, be prepared to play at the earliest tee time.

 

11. Watch your ball and identify a landmark where the ball will finish to speed-up locating your ball.

 

12. Assist other players in watching their ball so that it can be located more quickly.

 

13. In the TPGL, there is no penalty for ASKING for advice or giving advice IF ASKED. There is no penalty for NOT providing advice when asked.

 

14. Be prepared to change YOUR routine if your group falls behind the pace of play even if you feel that YOU are not the cause.

 

15. Players should ensure that any electronic device taken onto the course does not distract other players.

 

16. The head of a club should not be used to remove a ball from the hole.
